Overview

Short description:
The aim of the program is to prepare students to become well-trained specialists in Serbian philology. Students acquire comprehensive knowledge of Serbian literature from its early period to date in a European context, as well as extensive knowledge of Serbian grammar and the history of the Serbian language. Moreover, they get acquainted with the latest linguistic theories, sociolinguistics, textology, lexicology, stylistics and phraseology. Developing both oral and written proficiency in Serbian is an important component of our education program. The program ends with the thesis on a chosen subfield of Serbian philology. Note that the program does not offer teaching qualifications. The MA program consists of a basic common component compulsory (60 credits) and an optional specialization (22 credits).

This program is recommended to applicants who have a special interest in Serbian language and literature and wish to work in an area that requires Serbian language skills or is related to Serbian culture.

This program enables students to work as specialists of Serbian philology in the economic, cultural, political or social field.
