Language requirements | The applicant’s English skills are assessed in the admission interview conducted online or in person. Language certificates as proof of sufficient English language skills are not required, but highly recommended. Applicants must meet the following criteria (and demonstrate them in the interview): they should express themselves in standard spoken and written English (B2 level – IELTS min.: 5.5). Sufficient English language skills are a prerequisite for admission to our English Study Programmes. Applicants with weaker language skills have the possibility to take an intensive language course at the University of Pécs |

Other requirements | A motivation letter must be added to your application. A relevant portfolio is required. Applicants need to present evidence of creative ability and commitment to the field of architecture in addition to having strong academic credentials. The interview and portfolio requirements help the faculty assess strengths in these more subjective areas. Overview
The programme covers aspects of past and modern building materials science, engineering structures and building frames. Furthermore, it also focuses on areas closely related to the program’s priorities, such as environmental planning, settlement planning and energy design. In view of the specific features of the discipline and the wide range of subjects – that is, the interdisciplinary nature – of the various fields of research, the course curriculum lays special emphasis on ensuring that doctoral candidates gain the necessary knowledge and competence while also catering to their individual research topics. The prime objective of the Training Programme is to assist doctoral candidates of the school in preparing a dissertation of high standard and in complying with the requirements of a doctoral degree.

Programme structure
ALL REQUIRED CREDITS ARE 240
1 credit is equal to 30 hours. Credits to be completed each semester approximately 30
credits need to be completed. (App. 900 hours).
The minimum amount of credits to be collected every six months is 18 credits.
CREDITS THAT CAN BE COLLECTED IN THE I-IV SEMESTERS – TOTAL
(MINIMUM): 120 CREDITS
summa cum laude (above 85 %),
cum laude (71-85 %),
rite (70 %-60 %).
The doctoral training program consists of two stages and a complex comprehensive
examination in between of the two stages. All of them are required for a qualification. The
first stage is the Training Phase, and the second stage is the Dissertation Phase. The student
can enter into the 2nd stage only if the complex exam was fulfilled with success after the
1st stage.
