Language requirements | The applicant’s English skills are assessed in the admission interview conducted online or in person. Language certificates as proof of sufficient English language skills are not required, but highly recommended. Applicants must meet the following criteria (and demonstrate them in the interview): they should express themselves in standard spoken and written English (B2 level – IELTS min.: 5.5). Sufficient English language skills are a prerequisite for admission to our English Study Programmes. Applicants with weaker language skills have the possibility to take an intensive language course at the University of Pécs. |

Other requirements | A motivation letter must be added to your application. It is a brief description of your explanations why you are particularly interested in applying to our faculty, your motives, why you want to study the chosen programme etc. No required form but keep in mind that your letter of motivation may be discussed with you during the online interview. A relevant portfolio is required. Applicants need to present evidence of creative ability and commitment to the field of architecture in addition to having strong academic credentials. The interview and portfolio requirements help the faculty assess strengths in these more subjective areas. Overview
This programme trains students to apply their complex knowledge in the areas of architecture and urban planning, as well as in the field of environment formation in general (architectural design, town and country planning, preservation of built heritage, structural design, construction work, management and administration tasks, consulting with authorities, teaching etc.) During the first five or six semesters, students are provided with the groundwork in both human artistic and real engineering fields, and during the remaining semesters they can acquire special knowledge closely related to their qualification, In this phase. Creativity and and its final product – the completed work – are dominant.
Applicants who have already obtained a Bachelor (BSc) degree in Architecture (or relevant field) – after succesful admission – can join the program from the 7th semester.

Evaluation of the student is fully based on his/her performance and it gives a
formal feedback of his/her progress in work. All courses and laboratory work end
with a grade.
The grading system generally used by Hungarian higher education
institutions is the following:
•The highest grade is 5 excellent.
•Grade 4 is good.
•Grade 3 is satisfactory.
•Grade 2 is a pass.
•Grade 1 is a fail – the course must be repeated.
