Overview
The Doctoral School of Public Administration Sciences is the only doctoral school specializing in the field of public administration in Hungary. The aim of the Doctoral School’s program is to provide postgraduate-level education to professionals (researchers and practitioners) working in the field of public administration. The Doctoral School of Public Administration Sciences focuses on 7 areas of research: – History of State and Public administration – Jurisprudence – Organizational studies in Public Service and Sociology – Economic Sciences – Political Sciences and Governance Studies – Public Administration personnel – International and European Studies The organised training lasts 8 semesters and applies the system of credit points. In order to successfully finish their training and receive their pre-degree certificate (absolutorium) by the end of the 8th semester, PhD students must obtain at least 240 credit points and a certificate of B2 level in two foreign languages. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a PhD degree in Public Administration Sciences.

An application for an organised PhD programme must be submitted to the Office of Scientific Affairs (OSA) using the application form specified in the manner
The Admission Interviews are conducted in person or via Skype organized by the doctoral school. The Admission Interview is usually preceded by the evaluation of submitted research proposals from the applicants. At the interview, the applicant’s scientific (professional) performance, previous research activities and foreign language proficiency are assessed with points awarded. Maximum of 100 points may be obtained at the interview. The interview will last about 15-20 mins.
The Committee assesses and rates applicants and develops their standpoints: an applicant’s admission may be proposed, conditionally proposed or not proposed.
