INFORMATION FORSTUDENT AT RISKAPPLICANTS:

Please note that for the academic year 2022/2023, applications are accepted from engineering students in the following fields: aviation, vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering or similar study fields. The University of Nyíregyháza can only accept applicants for the Professional Pilot BSc with professional background and knowledge in the following fields: mechanics, technical drafting, theory of flight, mathematics and physics. During the online interview, your knowledge will be assessed in those subjects. Please contact us if you have any doubts about your eligibility.

The purpose of the training is to train professionals who are familiar with aviation and are able to work as professional pilots, and able to support the air operation, ground handling and transport operations at aircraft operators and organizations and carry out compliance monitoring and safety management activities also. After gaining the necessary professional experience they are able to fulfil the requirements as nominated post-holders also. The requirements for ATP (A) integrated training (Airline Transport Pilot, Aircraft) have been mastered. Graduates are prepared to continue their studies at the MSc level. During the first year besides basic technical studies, students will learn Principles of Flight as well as familiarize themselves with Aviation English. Following successful completion of the first two semesters, students will start the practical part of the course during the following Summer and fly the aircraft. Next to aviation-related subjects, students will also gain strong engineering knowledge in various technical fields, such as mechanics, mathematics, technical drawing.

Specialisation options:

The Airline Pilot specialisation is the only one specialisation that is mandatory by this way: After successful completion of the programme (what is an ATPL integrated course) the following ratings will be obtained: ATPL theory, CPL (commercial pilot license) ME/IR (A) (multi-engine instrument rating), Night (VFR), MCC (Multi Crew Cooperation). Belonging to the exams at the end of the semesters, successful examinations at the Civil Aviation Authority are needed in the following subjects: Air Law, Aircraft General Knowledge (Airframe/Systems/Power plant, and Instrumentation, Mass and Balance, Performance, Flight Planning and Monitoring, Human Performance, Meteorology, General Navigation, Radio Navigation, Operational Procedures, Principles of Flight, VFR and IFR Communications. The practical training comprises 140 flight hours on aircraft 40 hours of simulator training (FNPT II) and 20 hours of Multi Crew Cooperation (FNPT II).

The university has been training pilots for OVER 50 YEARS and places great emphasis on QUALITY EDUCATION. We are delighted to be able to offer this valuable programme in English.
The study programme will be implemented by the University of Nyíregyháza in cooperation with TRÉNER LTD. The theoretical part of the study programme will take place at the university, the flight training as practical part will be provided by Tréner Ltd.
The flight training starts in the summer after the first 2 semesters have been successfully completed.

Career opportunities

Career prospect: On the base of the experience of the last 10 years the graduates have career prospect as the first officer at an airliner and flight instructor at an approved training organisation or commercial pilot at small aviation companies.
