Overview
About the BA Sport Coaching Program
The BA Sport Coaching program is a full-time program that is taught in English over six semesters. The program will take you from basic to advanced knowledge in your chosen sport. You will also learn the foundations and related health and sport sciences from renowned instructors and coaches.
Program Aim:
The aim of the program is to train professional coaches who possess both theoretical and practical knowledge and skills. These coaches will be capable of planning and executing training processes for both youth and adult athletes, selecting athletes, developing their personalities, and enhancing their performance. They will have the necessary management and synthesis skills to oversee, organize, and control the professional work of sports organizations. With their competencies, they will be well-suited to coordinate the work of different age groups and prepare high-level professional training and competitions for national teams. Additionally, they will be prepared to continue their studies in a master’s degree program.

Programme structure
Academic Year Structure:
The academic year runs from September to June and is divided into two semesters: September to January and February to June. Each semester you will take 9-12 courses, including Hungarian Language classes. Classes are scheduled over a five-day week, from 08:00 to 18:45 and are split between theoretical instruction and highly practical, hands-on training sessions, either on campus or at top-tier external venues in Budapest. During your studies, you will have the opportunity to connect with professional coaches and athletes, and possibly join clubs, all of which can further your career.
Upon successfully earning 180 credits you will be awarded the Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Sport Coaching. With the knowledge and skills, you gained, you will be well-prepared to work as a mid-level coach in your chosen sport. Completing the BA Sport Coaching Program also prepares you for our part-time, blended learning Master of Science (MSc) Sport Coaching program and the HUSS PhD programme.

After graduation, you will be ready for exciting career paths. You could work with sports clubs, public or private sports organizations, and even become a sports coach for professional or amateur teams. Another option is to train individual athletes.
