Entry qualification | Bachelor diploma (or higher) Full credit transfer is available for graduates of the following bachelor’s programs: Midwifery specialization of the Nursing and Patient Care program, Health Visitor specialization of the Health Care and Prevention program, Diagnostic Imaging specialization of the Medical Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging program, and the Medical Diagnostic Analyst bachelor’s program. It also applies to those who completed the Health Visitor program at a college level, as per the 1993 Act LXXX on Higher Education. For graduates of the Nursing specialization of the Nursing and Patient Care program, or those who completed the Nursing and Registered Nurse programs under the 1993 Act LXXX, a minimum of three years of specialized professional experience (in obstetrics-gynecology or diagnostic imaging) in a healthcare institution is required for entry into the program. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. In most cases you can request a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. |

Overview
The aim of the program is to train highly qualified professionals with specialized knowledge in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology, imaging diagnostics, perinatology, and clinical genetics. Based on their knowledge and skills, they are competent to independently perform screening activities in the area of obstetric-gynecological and fetal ultrasound diagnostics. They responsibly manage obstetric-gynecological ultrasound laboratories within healthcare providers, recognize pathological conditions, and refer them to supervising physicians in accordance with guidelines. They are able to distinguish between low and high-risk pregnancies and are prepared to continue their studies in a doctoral program.

Programme structure
The disciplines and fields of study leading to the qualification, on which the program is based: Applied health sciences (basics of clinical genetics, basics of ultrasound diagnostics, ultrasound anatomy, diagnostic imaging informatics and documentation) 13-16 credits;Theoretical and clinical medical sciences (obstetric-gynecological physiology and pathology, embryology) 5-8 credits; Specialized knowledge in obstetric- osgynecological sonography (general and vascular ultrasound diagnostics, obstetric ultrasound diagntics, gynecological ultrasound diagnostics, fetal ultrasound diagnostics) 22-25 credits; Elective professional knowledge (professional communication in healthcare, library studies, healthcare law in obstetrics-gynecology, healthcare ethics) 5-7 credits; The parallel practical training during the program is worth 60 credits.
Career opportunities
Upon graduation, students can work in obstetric and gynecological ultrasound diagnostic laboratories within inpatient and outpatient healthcare facilities. They can also be employed by other healthcare providers (e.g., private practices), where, under medical supervision, they will independently perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasound screening activities.
