Entrance exam description:
The applicants receive the questions in English by e-mail. The test consists of 20 to 25 questions of equal scores, which must be briefly answered within a week. The applicants have to give correct answers to at least 50% of the questions. The questions are composed by the head of the department and the departmental coordinator of studies. The questions can only be answered after preliminary BSc studies related to the cartography programme. A part of the questions includes a figure or a map, which has to be briefly interpreted according to given aspects (this may be simple calculation as well). These questions measure the skills and practical knowledge. Another part of the questions requires explanations in a few sentences, which measure the applicants’ professional interest and knowledge. The head of the department, the departmental coordinator and a teacher from the department evaluate the tests within a week. The total scores are given in percentage.
