Program description:
In English Studies students become proficient in understanding and producing academic and media­oriented publications in the fields of English literature, socio­cultural history of the English language­based cultures (especially Great Britain, Ireland, Canada and Australia), applied and theoretical linguistics, mediating in English and their native language in specialised cultural, economic and political areas, teaching and transmitting knowledge concerning English literature and linguistics, and English language­based cultures and societies. Structure of the program On SEAS website Strength of program Students acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills that can be utilised in both private and public sector establishments. Level of language proficiency corresponds to C2 level (proficiency) of CEFR. Language of instruction in all courses is English. Students are eligible for admission to PhD programmes. Career opportunities Academic: in all fields requiring a university degree without specifications of majors, in PhD programmes requiring a major specific degree. Out of University careers: journalism, tourism, teaching English in non­state funded schools, government organisations, diplomacy, any other job not requiring degree­specific skills, etc.

Entrance exam description:
The application documents are processed by the Department of International Affairs and then forwarded to the department responsible for the given degree programme. The department checks the documents and organizes an interview by telephone, online (e.g. Skype) or in person. After the entrance interview, the department comes to a decision and informs the Department of International Affairs.
