Mandatory Medical Certificate
Additional information regarding the mandatory medical certificate
Based on the Government Decree 16/2021 (I. 22) on the medical examinations of students from abroad during a state of emergency, all nominated applicants are required to upload a medical certificate of satisfactory health condition to the online system by 16th May 2021. This document is accepted to be uploaded after this deadline, until 1st August 2021 in case the applicant cannot possibly obtain the document by the deadline. In this case, the applicants need to upload a signed declaration to the online system by 16th May 2021, stating that they will obtain and upload the missing document until 1st August 2021 at the latest.
Please find below the mandatory template of the medical certificate which needs to be issued and signed by a physician:
The new mandatory Medical Certificate asks for information concerning vaccination against typhoid fever, however, the footnote indicates countries for which this should be considered.
’Has the patient been vaccinated against typhoid?* Please note that vaccination is compulsory.
*To be filled out only in case of endemic countries’
Based on the expert consultations, these countries are:
Asia: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia
Africa: Zimbabwe, Uganda, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, Ghana, Togo, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Gambia, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Sudan, Eritrea, Congo, Gabon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, Angola, Zambia, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, Madagascar
South America: Peru, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador
Please note that some institutions may use a more extensive list of countries and may also introduce other health requirements, so applicants are advised to check with the institutions in all cases.
