Budapest Circus Arts and Contemporary Dance College

The Budapest Circus Arts and Contemporary Dance College is a space and community organized for learning, teaching, researching and developing time- and movement-based performing arts. The College aims to discover and support talents and to train performing artists and educators whose BA or MA degrees are synonymous with up-to-date practical and theoretical knowledge and creativity anywhere in the world. Our mission is to ensure that the College’s arts education and the students who graduate from the College use the tools of the arts to bring core values to the cultural and social spheres of life, both nationally and internationally.

With the launch of the circus arts courses in 2023, the College continues its pioneering work in the new field of performing arts, which has begun in the field of contemporary dance in 2005. In close cooperation with the National Centre for Circus Arts, it is its mission to introduce and develop higher education in circus genres and fields in Hungary. The College’s 40-year experience of art education in contemporary dance and dance teacher training represent such core values in the cultural and social arenas of life that are essential in the world of the circus as well. The courses launched aim to research and develop circus arts with an educational focus, and to create a professional community of teachers, students and circus artists. In this way, the College also wishes to help elevate circus arts to an artistic level.

In addition to professionals from Hungary, our students can learn from internationally renowned trainers and professionally active artists, getting transferable knowledge as part of a creative community. All of our courses are recognised in the European Higher Education Area. The College is a member of the Erasmus+ program, which gives all students the opportunity to gain experience abroad through a study contract or internship.
